3. Benjamin2 Harrison (Benjamin1) (#1266) was born in Surrey County, Virginia September 20, 1645.(368) Benjamin died ABT. 1712.(369)

He married Hannah Churchill BEF. 1669.(370) (Hannah Churchill is #1267.) Hannah died ABT. 1698. At the time of his mother's death and the acquisition of his land inheritance Benjamin Harrison was already a successful trader and planter. He operated a river-front store which was a combination of a wharf, a tobacco warehouse and a storage house for imports. He represented Surry County in the House of Burgesses between 1679 and 1698. He was also sheriff of Surry County in 1679. In 1698 he became a member of the council of Virginia and held that high office until he died 14 years later. He added a substantial number of acres to the family estate.

Benjamin Harrison and Hannah Churchill had the following children:

child 4 i. Hannah3 Harrison (#1268) was born BEF. 1673. Hannah Harrison was the grandmother of Richard Henry Lee and Francis Lightfoot Lee, a signer of the Declaration of Independence.

child 5 ii. Nathaniel Harrison (#1269) was born BEF. 1673.

child + 6 iii. Benjamin Harrison was born 1673.
