2. Archibald² Simpson (William¹) (#59) was born in Botetourt, Botetourt County, Virginia, United States 1747. Archibald died 1797 in Augusta City, Virginia, United States, at 50 years of age.

He married Elizabeth Campbell 1763. (Elizabeth Campbell is #60.) Elizabeth was born 1749. Elizabeth was the daughter of William Campbell. Elizabeth died 1790 at 41 years of age. It is believed that ARCHIBALD SIMPSON served as a soldier in the Revolutionary War. The name "SIMSON" appears on a monument erected by the Daughters of the American Revolution, at the courthouse in Princeton, Gibson County, Indiana.

Archibald Simpson and Elizabeth Campbell had the following child:
